Henschke Lenswood Abbotts Prayer Merlot - Cabernet Sauvignon 1999

The Abbotts Prayer label links together the history, religion and pioneers of the area, which was originally known as Abbotts Flat. 85% merlot, 10% cabernet sauvignon and 5% cabernet franc were picked in early May. It was made using traditional open fermentation and maturation in new Vosges oak hogheads for 21 months to enhance the velvety structure of the merlot grape. This wine is living proof that history will soon regard Lenswood with all the respect it shows the other great vineyards the Henschke family has been blessed with since 1968.
